Course Background
The rapid development of artificial intelligence is changing social production methods and people’s lifestyles. In 2017, the State Council issued the “New Generation Artificial Intelligence Development Plan,” which explicitly proposed incorporating artificial intelligence into classroom teaching in primary and secondary schools. This has very important practical significance for mastering modern information technology by primary and secondary school students, promoting universal intelligence, and cultivating talents in the field of artificial intelligence.

Course Objectives
1. Students will be able to use Mixly software to write basic programs for the Arduino control board, mastering basic programming language statements and cultivating their programming logical thinking ability.
2. Students will be able to connect common sensors with the hardware of the Arduino control board, combining theory and practice to cultivate students’ hands-on ability, integrating creative ideas with intelligent control, fostering students’ innovative thinking, and enhancing their innovation capabilities, allowing students to experience the joy of turning innovative ideas into tangible objects.
3. In the design and production process, students will learn to reverse-engineer problems through observed phenomena, and after identifying problems, they will use their accumulated subject knowledge and life experiences to solve problems, thereby continuously cultivating their ability to discover and solve problems.

Course Showcase
(1) Course Schedule
01
Based on the PBL project-based teaching concept, the elective course “Introduction to Arduino and Sensors” is designed. The overall content of the course is designed from shallow to deep, and combined with hardware module connections and program design, each class’s project settings align with students’ real-life experiences. Students will design, produce, and refine their works by integrating knowledge from other disciplines and their own life experiences, making them more innovative, practical, and scientific.
(2) Music Lamp
02
The music lamp (atmosphere lamp): an atmosphere lamp that changes with the music, uses a sound sensor to capture surrounding sounds, and observes the brightness changes of the lamp based on sound levels, experiencing the charm of intelligent control through the collision of auditory and visual senses. Students gain achievements and happiness!
(3) Smart Car
03
Students are focused on assembling their own cars, combining car structure with intelligent control to achieve preset functions while showcasing creativity and aesthetics.
(4) Bedside Lamp
04
Combining Arduino with laser engraving, designing and producing beautiful and intelligent bedside lamps, controlling warm and cool colors through programming, designing different shapes and patterns, and creating personalized smart bedside lamps.
High school students start with the basics of Arduino, making it very suitable for beginner readers. During the learning process, it is recommended that students pay attention to the following aspects:
1. Be hands-on: Learning Arduino is not just about theoretical knowledge; it also involves learning to connect circuits, so you must complete every example in the teaching hands-on.
2. Be patient: Some components have many pins, and connecting them correctly on a breadboard is not easy, so patience is essential.
3. Be meticulous: Electronic design differs from programming; errors can easily damage hardware or even endanger personal safety, so it is crucial to pay attention to the teacher’s prompts during practical operations.
4. Engage in discussions: The path of self-study can be very challenging. Finding a few friends to study together is much happier. Participating more in our elective course discussions can broaden your horizons, share experiences, and learn from others’ insights.
